The more history Antetokounmpo makes for the Bucks, the more Kareem Abdul-Jabbar “hates” him.

Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 48 points and pulled down 17 rebounds against the Houston Rockets in Texas, once again reaching and surpassing the 40-point mark.

The Milwaukee Bucks lost 112-108 despite Anteto’s enormous effort to do it all. Despite the criticism the Greek center himself directed at his team and the warning that they had four months to turn things around, Anteto once again tore a hole in the history of his team.

Giannis scored at least 45 points in 18 games in his career after his 48-point performance against the Rockets.

Antetokounmpo ties the record set by Abdul-Jabbar.
By doing this, he surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the all-time leader in Bucks history.

With 64 points against the Indiana Pacers this season, the Greek already broke the team record for most points in a game. In actuality, he scored forty or more points for the second time in a row and the sixth time overall this season against the Rockets.

Although the renowned center was able to score 20 points overall with the Los Angeles Lakers twice more, Giannis now has the same total as Abdul-Jabbar in terms of team scoring.

Among players in the NBA history with the most games played (45+), Giannis comes in at number eighteen with his 18. He is level with Bob Pettit and Bernard King, one behind Damian Lillard and Larry Bird, two behind Jabbar and Westbrook and Durant, and three behind Jerry West. They are all well behind Wilt Chamberlain’s 176, the unchallenged leader, and Michael Jordan’s 76, which is in second place.

Antetokounmpo became just the third player in history to average 32 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists on 55% shooting during a 10-game stretch in the same season with his performance against Houston. Wilt Chamberlain (1966, 1967) and Nikola Jokic (2022) came before the Greeks.
