Gerald Mincey, the offensive tackle for the Tennessee Volunteers, has made his entry into the NCAA Transfer Portal.

Another player from Tennessee has chosen to enter the transfer portal, this time it’s Gerald Mincey, the offensive lineman hailing from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Standing at approximately 6-6 and weighing 337 pounds, as reported by utsports.com, Mincey, a redshirt junior this past year, participated in all 13 games including the bowl game, starting in seven of those matchups.
Initially, Mincey had indicated his intention to continue with Tennessee; however, he has now decided to complete his collegiate career elsewhere. He was anticipated to be a starting tackle for the 2024 Volunteers but will now depart from Tennessee. He spent the last two seasons with Tennessee after transferring from the Florida Gators, where he participated in more than ten games in 2021. Identified as a three-star recruit entering college in 2020, Mincey was ranked 689th overall by the On3 industry rankings. He received substantial attention from various schools before committing to Florida and subsequently transferring to the Tennessee Volunteers.
Despite facing some legal issues due to a simple possession charge, Mincey, a talented tackle, continued to play for coach Heupel and the offensive team. Following the charge, he faced limitations as a form of discipline, but it did not entirely prevent him from playing.
Should Mincey complete his transfer from the Volunteers, the team will need to seek a replacement. It remains uncertain who will step into the tackle position; nonetheless, incoming freshman Bennett Warren is a potential candidate who may bring changes to practice. Warren, a 6’8 (325-pound) prospect from Sugar Land, Texas, will be showcased early to Tennessee fans as he participates in the All-American Bowl on January 6th.
