Reports suggest that the Titans have shown interest in acquiring Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

In Nashville, the Tennessee Titans, aiming to bolster their pass defense, have reportedly shown interest in acquiring Kansas City Chiefs cornerback L’Jarius Sneed.

As per reports from USA Today, the Titans are among seven teams that have approached the Super Bowl champions regarding a potential trade.

Before the Tuesday deadline, the Chiefs placed Sneed on the non-exclusive franchise tag, which would see him earn $19.8 million for the 2024 season. This tag allows the Chiefs until mid-July to negotiate a new contract with Sneed. In the event of no agreement, both parties have until the midseason trade deadline to explore other options.

By tagging Sneed, the Chiefs would receive compensation in the form of draft picks from the team that trades for him.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) awarded Sneed a season grade of 72.5, ranking 30th out of 127 NFL defensive backs. His stats for the season include 78 tackles, 14 passes defended, five tackles for loss, two interceptions, and one recovered fumble.

The Titans’ offseason priorities lie in strengthening their offensive line, wide receiver corps, and defensive backs. In 2023, Tennessee ranked 26th among 32 teams in pass coverage, per PFF, and managed just six interceptions.
