Philadelphia Releases Avonte Maddox, Expresses Willingness for Reunion

The Philadelphia Eagles have undergone significant alterations to the coaching staff this offseason and are now implementing noteworthy changes to the roster.

According to reports from ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles are parting ways with veteran cornerback Avonte Maddox after his six-year tenure with the team. Nonetheless, this departure does not seem to mark the end of their association.

“Additional roster adjustments: The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing CB Avonte Maddox following his six seasons with the team, as per sources. He carried a $9.6 million salary cap hit for 2024. Both parties will continue discussions and remain open to the possibility of reuniting,” Schefter tweeted.
