The Rams have officially confirmed the appointments of Sean Desai and Jerry Schuplinski.
The Los Angeles Rams officially announced the appointment of two new senior assistant coaches, Sean Desai and Jerry Schuplinski, on Friday. Desai will be joining the defense while Schuplinski will be part of the offense.
Although news of both hirings surfaced last month, this marks the first public acknowledgment from the Rams regarding their addition to the coaching staff.
Desai, aged 40, served as the defensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles last season. However, his tenure faced challenges when the Eagles reassigned play-calling responsibilities to senior assistant Matt Patricia following consecutive blowout losses in early December. Before joining Philadelphia, Desai spent a year as an associate head coach with the Seattle Seahawks in 2022. He also spent nine years with the Chicago Bears, culminating in his role as the team’s defensive coordinator.
Schuplinski, aged 46, spent the last two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, initially as a senior offensive assistant before transitioning to the role of tight ends coach. He is best known for his time with the New England Patriots, where he worked closely with Tom Brady as an offensive assistant from 2013 to 2015 and as an assistant quarterbacks coach from 2016 to 2018. Schuplinski has also held positions with the Miami Dolphins and the New York Giants over the past five years.
