Samari Matthews has rescheduled his visit to Tennessee.
Highly regarded defender Samari Matthews from William Amos Hough High School is among the standout prospects in the 2026 recruitment cycle, boasting 29 offers from premier programs nationwide such as Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, Tennessee, and USC, among others.
Initially planning a spring visit schedule, Matthews had to make adjustments to his plans. His upcoming visit to Knoxville, Tennessee, scheduled for April 1, marks a pivotal stop on his spring tour and his first visit to Rocky Top since the Vols extended their offer, which was the third offer Matthews received.
Ranked as the 32nd prospect in the 2025 class by 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, Matthews showcased his prowess with 25 tackles and an interception during his sophomore season. Tennessee holds a significant advantage as they were one of the earliest to offer Matthews and have maintained consistent interest throughout his high school career.
