Details of Amik Robertson’s contract with the Lions have been disclosed.

The Detroit Lions have finalized a contract agreement with cornerback Amik Robertson.

Robertson, aged 25, has secured a two-year deal valued at $9.25 million, with $4.5 million guaranteed.

Upon signing, the accomplished NFL defensive back will receive a $3.3 million signing bonus.

For the year 2024, $1.2 million of his salary is fully guaranteed, with his salary set to increase to $4.2 million in 2025.

The contract includes performance-based incentives for interceptions and potential Pro Bowl selections, along with a $500,000 roster bonus for being on the Lions’ roster in 2025, five days after the start of the new league year.

Detroit’s latest addition to the cornerback position possesses attributes that are likely to appeal to the coaching staff. Defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, a former NFL defensive back, has emphasized physicality and resilience, both of which are qualities Robertson embodies.

Speaking about Robertson, Raiders coach Antonio Pierce commented, “First of all, he’s extremely talented when the ball is in the air. He’s probably one of the more physical DBs, as well. You always see him punch the ball, coming through making tackles. I don’t want to call it the little man complex, but he walks around like he’s 6-2, 220 sometimes, and he’s fearless. He’s a smart football player. He has confidence, and I’m glad he’s finally having success on the field.”

Recognizing the defensive shortcomings evident throughout the 2023 season, Detroit’s front office has made a deliberate effort to revamp the defensive backs’ room.

Robertson shared his perspective, stating, “I’m a very confident guy. Once I built myself up, I didn’t really worry about what anybody said.”
