See how Mavericks player Luka Doncic honors Wilt Chamberlain after scoring 73 points in a game

Luka Doncic’s incredible performance on Friday night made headlines.

In the Dallas Mavericks’ 148-143 victory over the Atlanta Hawks at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, Doncic scored a career-high 73 points. Doncic shot an amazing 25 of 33 from the field, making 8 of 13 three-pointers. He converted 15 out of 16 free throws. For good measure, he added seven assists and ten rebounds.

The Mavericks had Doncic hold up a sign with the number “73” after his enormous feat in remembrance of the iconic picture of Wilt Chamberlain taken after the center’s historic 100-point performance.

Through X, the Mavs also revealed some amazing details regarding the performance. The Mavs’ 73 points tie Doncic for the fourth-most points ever scored in an NBA game and mark a franchise best for the team. The NBA has only ever had 15 games with 70 points or more.
