The Kansas City Royals have sent three players, including the in-form Nick Pratto, down to Triple-A Omaha on option.

On Friday, the Kansas City Royals continued their roster adjustments by sending Austin Nola, Nick Pratto, and Drew Waters down to Triple-A Omaha.

This move leaves the Royals with a 49-player roster in major-league camp. Pratto and Waters were both vying for the final roster spot this spring, competing alongside outfielder Dairon Blanco and infielder Nick Loftin.

Pratto, aged 25, showcased an impressive performance in Cactus League play, boasting a .421 batting average with four home runs and 13 RBIs in 38 at-bats. His resurgence follows a left groin injury that sidelined him for six weeks last season. With a chance for regular at-bats in Omaha, Pratto aims to continue his success after refining his swing during the offseason.

Meanwhile, Waters, also 25, recorded a .276 batting average in 29 at-bats during spring training. Despite some standout moments, such as his solo homer in the spring opener, Waters struggled with consistency at the plate. He heads to Triple-A Omaha with an opportunity for regular playing time, with the Royals keeping an eye on his potential recall this season.

Nola, aged 34, provided a veteran presence in the clubhouse after being acquired early in camp. Despite his experience and catching depth, he was sent down after playing in 12 games and producing five hits in 25 at-bats with the team.

The Royals’ final roster decisions also include the bench candidates Blanco and Loftin, with Blanco offering speed and Loftin versatility in multiple infield positions. Additionally, the bullpen remains a point of consideration, with Rule 5 Draft pick Matt Sauer and non-roster invitee Sam Long in contention for spots.
