Oklahoma Sooners guard Otega Oweh has decided to join the transfer portal.
The 2023-2024 Oklahoma Sooners men’s basketball campaign exceeded expectations for many, as they climbed into the top 10 and appeared poised for an NCAA Tournament berth until setbacks on conference championship Saturday and Selection Sunday dashed those hopes.
Despite falling short of the tournament for the third consecutive year under Porter Moser, offseason turnover via the transfer portal is once again anticipated.
According to On3Sports’ Joe Tipton, Sooners guard Otega Oweh intends to enter the transfer portal.
In his sophomore season with the Sooners, Oweh ranked second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.4 points per game. He boasted a field goal percentage of 49.3% and logged an average of 24.8 minutes per game.
In his final appearance as a Sooner, Oweh contributed 16 points in 31 minutes on 6-of-9 shooting during Oklahoma’s seven-point loss to TCU.
Otega Oweh is an athletic guard proficient in transitioning up and down the court. He excels in finishing around the basket and is expected to become a formidable presence in college basketball as he refines his shooting abilities beyond the paint.
