3 player trades the Broncos can make during the 2024 NFL Draft

The Denver Broncos are in dire need of injecting young talent into their roster, and one potential avenue could be exploring the remaining options in the trade market. With draft day trades being a possibility, the Broncos, who currently possess two top-100 picks and a total of eight picks, have flexibility to acquire more assets. Additionally, they could maneuver up or down the draft board through trades. It’s anticipated that head coach Sean Payton will adopt an aggressive approach to address the team’s shortcomings, potentially involving trading up or even player swaps.

A recent trade request from Tee Higgins of the Cincinnati Bengals suggests dissatisfaction with his current situation, making him a viable target for Denver. Higgins has showcased his capabilities, averaging 4.4 receptions and 63.5 yards per game over his first four seasons, with two 1,000-yard seasons in 2021 and 2022. However, playing second fiddle to Ja’Marr Chase has limited his opportunities. Given the unlikelihood of the Bengals trading Chase, Higgins could be an attractive option for the Broncos.

Proposing a trade involving sending Courtland Sutton and a 2024 third-round pick to acquire Higgins seems plausible for Denver. While Higgins commands a significant salary, Denver is equipped to handle it. Such a trade would considerably bolster Denver’s receiving corps, instantly elevating its potential.
