Commanding officers authorize DL Haggai Chisom Nduisi.
The Washington Commanders have announced the signing of defensive lineman Haggai Chisom Ndubuisi from Loudoun County, Virginia. The exact details of the agreement were not made public.
Standing at 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 298 pounds, Ndubuisi is embarking on his second season in the NFL. He commenced his NFL journey with the Arizona Cardinals in 2022 and later joined the Denver Broncos in the recent season through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. Prior to this, he had a stint with the San Antonio Brahmas in the United Football League (UFL) during 2023.
In the 2023 preseason, Ndubuisi participated in one game with the Broncos, where he tallied two tackles, subsequently spending the rest of the season on the practice squad.
During his time with the Cardinals in 2022, Ndubuisi made an appearance in the team’s initial preseason game as an offensive lineman.
Originally hailing from Lagos, Nigeria, Ndubuisi’s athletic journey initially involved soccer and basketball until he stumbled upon football through online videos. He taught himself the game before joining the UpRise Academy in Ghana in 2021, an initiative dedicated to identifying African football talent. Ndubuisi’s performance at an International NFL Camp held in London earned him an invitation to the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program.
