Bulls Secure Convincing Victory Over Griquas in Kimberley

The Bulls delivered a strong all-around performance, securing a crucial 40-20 victory over the Griquas in Kimberley on Saturday as they aim to improve their position in the Currie Cup standings.

Taking a commanding 19-3 lead into halftime, the Bulls capitalized on first-half tries from Embrose Papier, Johan Grobbelaar, and Elrigh Louw, with Chris Smith adding two conversions. The Griquas managed to score only through a penalty by Lubabalo Dobela.

In the second half, the Bulls extended their lead with additional tries from Grobbelaar, Marco Jansen van Vuren, and Simphiwe Matanzima, while the Griquas responded with tries from Johan Mulder, Jay-Cee Nel, and Stephan Smit.

With this victory, the Bulls maintain their seventh position in the standings, trailing the Griquas by just one point and standing five points behind the fourth-place team. As the competition progresses, the top four teams will advance to the knock-out stage of the Currie Cup.

Up next, the Bulls will face the Lions on May 20, while the Griquas will take on the Griffons.
