Mason Short, a former Alabama recruit and a highly-rated offensive lineman with a four-star rating, has chosen to commit to the University of Georgia.

Mason Short, a highly regarded four-star offensive lineman hailing from Evans, Georgia, has officially declared his commitment to the University of Georgia. Standing at 6 feet 5.5 inches and weighing 300 pounds, Short opted for the Bulldogs despite offers from Kentucky, Clemson, and Ohio State. His decision to decommit from Alabama on January 16 followed Nick Saban’s retirement.

Ranked as the No. 224 prospect overall and the No. 13 interior offensive lineman in the 2025 class, Short holds the fifth position among interior offensive linemen and the 30th spot overall in Georgia, as per the On3 industry rankings. Notably, he received recognition as the Offensive Lineman of the Year in 2022 and earned second-team MaxPreps Sophomore All-American honors. Additionally, Short has been acknowledged with Preseason MaxPreps Junior All-American honors for the current season.

Short’s commitment has significantly bolstered Georgia’s 2025 recruiting class, propelling it to the eighth spot nationally and the third position within the SEC.
