Staes, a transfer from Notre Dame, is prepared to handle various responsibilities for the Vols.

Holden Staes, the Tennessee tight end, sets a straightforward yet ambitious goal for his upcoming junior season with the Volunteers, following his two-year stint at Notre Dame.

His objective? To be versatile.

“I aspire to be the kind of tight end who excels in all aspects of the game: contributing to the run game by opening up lanes for the running backs, being effective in open spaces, blocking alongside the receivers, while also seeking opportunities to make plays downfield and pose a significant threat in the red zone,” Staes expressed during a Saturday news conference. “I simply aim to be an all-around asset for this offense.”

As the Volunteers concluded their 10th spring practice on Saturday, anticipation builds for next Saturday’s Orange & White Game at Neyland Stadium.
