The Raiders are considering a significant trade proposal, dubbed the “Godfather” offer, which would involve dealing with the Commanders to bolster their quarterback position.

The Washington Commanders seem committed to selecting a quarterback with the No. 2 pick in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft. Similarly, the Las Vegas Raiders have a significant need for a quarterback and are showing strong interest in LSU’s Jayden Daniels.

However, the Raiders face a dilemma as the Commanders are likely to choose Daniels if they retain their pick. Should Las Vegas truly covet Daniels, they’ll have to offer a substantial package to persuade Washington to trade down. Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal suggested a potential “Godfather” offer that the Raiders could propose to the Commanders.

Bonsignore explained, “Antonio Pierce’s strong desire to draft Daniels could prompt Telesco to make the Commanders an offer for the No. 2 overall pick they can’t refuse.”

“One scenario would entail the Raiders sending Washington the 13th pick, their second-round pick, their 2025 and 2026 first-round picks, and a 2026 third-round pick.”

The Commanders are undergoing a comprehensive rebuild with new ownership, a new head coach, and a new general manager. With significant roster needs and no playoff victories since 2005, acquiring five picks from the Raiders could provide a considerable boost to their rebuilding efforts. Additionally, they would still have the opportunity to select a different quarterback later in this year’s draft.
