Byron Murphy emerges as the top choice among Los Angeles Rams fans.

Murphy and Johnny Newton from Illinois are both highly esteemed as premier defensive tackle prospects in their class. Either would be a significant asset for the Rams, especially at the 19th pick.

In the previous season, Murphy exhibited his prowess with 29 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, and five sacks, even contributing two touchdowns on offense. ESPN NFL Draft expert Mel Kiper Jr. has recognized Murphy as a standout defensive tackle prospect and a potential first-round selection.

Should Murphy be available at No. 19, he would seamlessly integrate into the Rams’ defensive system due to his exceptional skills. However, there’s a possibility he may be drafted before their turn.

Nevertheless, considering the Rams’ track record of bold moves on draft day, trading up for Murphy remains a viable option.
