Gonzaga’s Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong selected in the WNBA Draft.
In Spokane, Washington, Gonzaga’s Brynna Maxwell and Kaylynne Truong were both selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft on Monday night.
Maxwell exceeded expectations by being chosen earlier than projected, securing the first pick of the second round, 13th overall, by the Chicago Sky. This achievement follows Maxwell’s record-breaking season where she made 95 three-pointers. During her two-year tenure at GU, Maxwell received All-WCC First Team honors both years, concluding her career with 1,979 points and 377 three-pointers, shooting at an impressive 42.7% from beyond the arc.
Eight picks later, Kaylynne Truong was selected 21st overall by the Washington Mystics. Truong, who spent five years at Gonzaga, was named the 2023 WCC Player of the Year. She earned All-WCC First Team honors twice and ranks second in program history with 623 assists.
With their selections, Maxwell and Truong join the ranks of the seven previous Gonzaga players drafted into the WNBA.
