Hinkley downplays Power’s clash with Pies, expressing satisfaction with the ruck tag-team.

Port Adelaide is prepared for their challenging match at the MCG, currently sitting in third place on the ladder with a 4-1 record. A win against the reigning premiers on their home ground would send a strong message to the rest of the league early in the season.

Coach Hinkley acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming game, emphasizing the tough nature of every match in the competition. Despite the challenges, the team is approaching the game with the goal of securing a victory.

However, Port will face the game without two key forwards, as veteran Charlie Dixon has been rested and Jeremy Finlayson is suspended. Hinkley explained that Dixon’s rest was planned before the season began and that the 33-year-old will be managed throughout the year.

The absence of Dixon, Finlayson, and Ollie Lord due to injury has created an opportunity for Jordon Sweet, a former Western Bulldogs ruckman, to make his debut for the club alongside off-season recruit Ivan Soldo. These new additions to the team will face off against the Collingwood ruck duo of Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox.
