HE is coming: Another mega star player committed to the miami heats

An NBA analyst suggested that the Miami Heat should aim to acquire Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans in the upcoming offseason. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report sees Ingram as a good fit for the Heat’s roster. He pointed out that Ingram, who shares the same age as Bam Adebayo at 26, possesses the scoring ability and playmaking skills necessary to elevate Miami’s offense, which struggled with efficiency last season. Buckley speculated that Ingram might become available for trade if the Pelicans reassess their roster, particularly their tandem of Ingram and Zion Williamson, following a potential early playoff exit.

Furthermore, Ingram’s status as a high-quality but not top-tier star could work in favor of the Heat, who may not have an abundance of trade assets. Buckley suggested a potential trade package involving Tyler Herro, a promising young player like Nikola Jović or Jaime Jaquez Jr., and an unprotected future first-round draft pick as a starting point for negotiations.

This move could signify a significant trade move for the Heat, especially after missing out on acquiring Damian Lillard and Jrue Holiday last offseason. ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski noted that Miami’s reputation as an attractive destination for players might enable them to leverage their assets to acquire another All-Star-level player who aligns better with the timeline of Bam Adebayo and his age.

Ingram had a solid season with the Pelicans, averaging 20.8 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.7 assists per game while shooting efficiently from the field, beyond the arc, and the free-throw line. He is set to earn $36 million in the final year of his contract next season. Ingram, who started his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers, has maintained consistent statistical performance with both the Lakers and the Pelicans, averaging 19.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.3 assists throughout his career.
