Gatorade has forged a partnership with Mavericks’ guard Luka Doncic, adding him to a roster alongside six other NBA athletes, which includes Basketball Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, Timberwolves forward Karl-Anthony Towns, Pelicans forward Zion Williamson, Bucks guard Damian Lillard, and Pistons guard Jaden Ivey. The specifics of the agreement have not been disclosed publicly yet. Previously, the Mavericks and Doncic had connections with sports nutrition company BioSteel. In 2020, BioSteel became the Mavericks’ inaugural official sports drink partner, and a year later, Doncic secured an equity stake in the company as part of an endorsement arrangement. However, in September 2023, BioSteel’s parent company, Canopy Growth Corporation, filed for bankruptcy (Dallas Morning News, 4/24).
