Samuel Adeniran returned to the training field with St. Louis City SC on Wednesday as the team resumed its practice sessions. Adeniran had been sidelined for the previous two games due to Coach Bradley Carnell’s dissatisfaction with his performance and effort.
Carnell had stated last week that the focus was on players who displayed a certain standard of intensity and work ethic in training, implying that Adeniran needed to improve in these areas before being considered for selection. Adeniran was consequently training separately from the team until further notice.
On Wednesday, Carnell provided minimal comment on the situation, simply confirming that Adeniran was back training with the team.
With no game scheduled for the upcoming weekend, players had an extra day off following their recent 3-3 draw with Sporting Kansas City.
Adeniran had scored goals in the team’s first two MLS games of the season but had recently been omitted from the game-day roster despite spots being available. He participated fully in training and engaged in additional shooting practice with teammates and coaches after the session.
Meanwhile, other players such as Eduard Lowen, Njabulo Blom, and Josh Yaro were progressing in their rehabilitation work, with Lowen receiving specialized treatment due to his injury and personal circumstances. Blom and Yaro were gradually reintegrating into on-field activities, with Blom being the closest to a return among the three.
