WNBA franchises are experiencing a surge in season ticket sales, particularly among teams with smaller venues.

WNBA teams are witnessing a surge in season ticket sales, with notable sellouts reported earlier this week by the Atlanta Dream. The Dream, who play at the Gateway Center Arena, boasting 3,500 seats, the league’s smallest venue, saw all their season tickets snapped up. Similarly, the Wings, based at the College Park Center with 7,000 seats (the third smallest in the WNBA), also experienced a sellout.

Notably, the Washington Mystics, playing at the Entertainment and Sports Arena with 4,200 seats (the second smallest in the league), have yet to confirm if they have sold out their season tickets, as purchasing them online is not currently an option.

While it’s positive news that two teams have sold out their season ticket allocations, it’s worth noting that these teams operate in two of the three smallest facilities in the WNBA. This raises discussions about the need for larger venues, a sentiment particularly echoed for the Mystics, who have advocated for a larger facility, as have the Dream and Wings.
