Gonzaga’s Graham Ike named one of the top transfers in college basketball

In his rookie campaign, the All-WCC forward led the Bulldogs in both scoring and rebounds.
The secret to Gonzaga’s ninth consecutive Sweet 16 appearance lies in April of last year, when Mark Few added transfers Graham Ike and Ryan Nembhard on the same day.

After going through some early growing pains as a team, the two clicked and went on to lead a pick-and-roll attack that ranked among the top five in the nation. Both helped the Bulldogs get to the NCAA Tournament’s second weekend after being nominated to the first team of the conference.

Especially on the low block, Ike was unstoppable, averaging a team-high 16.5 points, grabbing 7.4 rebounds, and shooting 60.9% from the floor. Ike became the sixth player in league history to lead the league in both scoring and field goal percentage in conference games alone with his even superior league play statistics of 18.4 points per game on 64.0% shooting from the field.
