Surprising deal: A freshman forward of Gonzaga announces his leaving to
Verbal Commits reports that Pavle Stosic, a freshman forward for Gonzaga men’s basketball, has opted to transfer. Stosic, standing at 6-foot-9 and hailing from Serbia, played in 14 games during the previous season, contributing 14 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks over 46 minutes as a bench player. His highest-scoring games were against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Pacific, where he scored four points each time.
Stosic arrived at Gonzaga last fall after spending three seasons playing professionally in Spain. He split two seasons between Casademont Zaragoza and the Zaragoza U18 team before joining CBP Huesca in the Spanish LEB leagues. In the 2021-2022 season, he transitioned from a limited role to starting in three games for CBP Huesca, appearing in a total of 16 games and averaging 3.4 points and 3.3 assists.
Additionally, Stosic represented Serbia in the FIBA U18 European Challengers in 2021, where he averaged 6.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game as Serbia finished second in Group A, trailing Spain.
Before the May 1 deadline, Gonzaga has seen two players, including redshirt junior and former walk-on Colby Brooks, enter the transfer portal. Brooks made his decision public on April 18.
