Its a done deal: Another mega talented star player committed to the Chicago sky just.

Angel Reese is set to embark on her WNBA journey next season, but she hasn’t forgotten her friends, as evidenced by her heartfelt message of support to Hailey van Lith. The 21-year-old, selected as the No. 7 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Chicago Sky, is ready to kick off her professional basketball career with a contract valued at $325,000.

Van Lith, initially expected to enter the draft, surprised many by opting to transfer from LSU following a mixed season. After much speculation, the 22-year-old from Washington has chosen to join Texas Christian University (TCU) for the 2024 season before considering her draft prospects in the future.

Reese’s unwavering support for Van Lith, despite some criticism surrounding her decision, is evident in her encouraging words: “Proud of you. You know what to do & you know I’m always rocking with you.”

While Reese excelled at LSU, Van Lith’s experience during the 2023-24 campaign had its highs and lows. Transitioning from a successful stint at Louisville where she led in scoring, Van Lith’s performance at LSU saw a decline, with her points per game dropping to 11.6 and a field goal percentage of 37.8%.

According to LSU head coach Kim Mulkey, Van Lith recognized the need for a change to a program where she can feel more at ease and return to her preferred position, possibly indicating pressure felt at LSU.

Now at TCU, Van Lith has the opportunity for a fresh start in her senior year, with the potential of the WNBA awaiting if she can rediscover her form from her time at Louisville.
