Joe Milton III, the former Tennessee quarterback, was picked by the New England Patriots during the 2024 NFL Draft’s third day. Throughout his final season at Tennessee, he threw for 2,813 yards and 27 touchdowns with only five interceptions. Milton had a record of 11-5 in the fifteen games he started at the University of Tennessee.
Standing at 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 245 pounds, Milton possesses significant physical prowess. The New England Patriots selected North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye as the third overall pick to potentially become their franchise quarterback. There have been suggestions that Milton might transition to the tight end position in the professional league. However, during a media briefing following his selection, Milton dismissed this notion when asked about it by a reporter.
“I haven’t heard that suggestion from anyone else, honestly, but that’s not something I’ll consider,” Milton responded. It appears that he is determined to pursue a career as a quarterback in the NFL.
