Should the Titans consider adding Zay Jones to their roster now that he’s been released by the Jaguars?
Even with the addition of Jha’Quan Jackson from Tulane in the 2024 NFL draft, the Tennessee Titans are still in need of more depth at wide receiver. A potential solution has emerged with the recent release of veteran wideout Zay Jones by the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Jones endured a challenging season marked by injuries, appearing in just nine games and tallying 321 yards with two touchdowns. However, the previous year showcased his potential, as he amassed a career-high 823 yards and five touchdowns. Notably, he had a standout performance against the Titans during that season, recording eight receptions for 77 yards and a touchdown in a Week 14 victory.
At 29 years old, Jones brings versatility to play both inside and outside positions and has demonstrated his ability to make plays across the field. His addition would bolster the Titans’ receiving corps, which lacks depth beyond DeAndre Hopkins and Calvin Ridley.
Furthermore, Jones has a connection to Titans offensive coordinator Nick Holz, who served as his passing-game coordinator in Jacksonville last season. Additionally, he was teammates with Ridley in 2023, potentially providing an avenue for recruitment if the Titans express interest.
