A significant amount of Ohio State Buckeyes are projected to be selected in the first round of the 2025 NFL mock draft that’s perhaps a tad premature.

The 2024 NFL Draft was an uncharacteristic one for how Ohio State was represented in it. Just four Buckeyes were drafted throughout the draft and Marvin Harrison Jr. was the only first-round player to be selected when he went No. 4 to the Arizona Cardinals. A to Z Sports’ Travis May believes that changes next year when he is projecting five different Ohio State Buckeyes to be deserted in the first round of his way-too-early NFL mock draft.

15. Los Angeles Chargers: Emeka Egbuka, Wide Receiver, Ohio State
Egbuka opted to return to school along with several other Buckeyes to address unfinished goals. Initially expected to be a first-round pick last year, he faced setbacks due to injury, resulting in reduced production to under 600 yards during his junior year. With the implementation of NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) regulations, Egbuka has returned and is poised for a more prolific season, likely elevating him to an early-round selection.

16. Jacksonville Jaguars: Denzel Burke, Cornerback, Ohio State
Burke stood out as Ohio State’s premier cornerback last season, and while many anticipated him turning professional, he was the first Buckeye to announce his return following the previous season. Burke is set to reclaim his role as Ohio State’s top cornerback, and if he continues to demonstrate his ability to excel in one-on-one coverage, he could hear his name called early in the draft.

18. Cleveland Browns: TreVeyon Henderson, Running Back, Ohio State
The trend among Ohio State’s early-round prospects is players who had the option to enter the draft last year but opted to stay. Henderson showcased his talent as a freshman before injuries hampered his sophomore year. He rebounded impressively during his junior season and could have pursued a professional career. However, he has chosen to return, forming what is anticipated to be the nation’s premier running back duo alongside the subsequent pick.
