right leg break in last year’s finals series. During Saturday night’s game against the Titans, Papenhuyzen left the field just before halftime due to an ankle injury, requiring crutches for support. The injury occurred while he was chasing Titans player AJ Brimson, prompting a goal line drop out, and immediately clutching his right ankle. Post-match scans confirmed the injury’s relation to last year’s leg fracture. Storm coach Craig Bellamy expressed uncertainty about the extent of Papenhuyzen’s misfortune, mentioning the possibility of issues with the plate or above it. Papenhuyzen’s replacement, Sua [Fa’alogo], also left the field before fulltime due to a head injury assessment (HIA) clearance at halftime and later sustained a knee injury. Titans halfback Tanah Boyd suffered a dislocated wrist in the eighth minute and Dolphins centre Tesi Niu exited the match against the Cowboys with an ankle injury in the 47th minute.
