Auburn Extends Offer to 2025 Running Back JP Powell
Highly regarded 2025 running back prospect JP Powell has been extended an offer by the Auburn Tigers following a productive meeting with running back coach Derrick Nix.
Hailing from Georgia, Powell has also garnered interest from Florida State, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Troy, and several other smaller schools. Powell expressed his enthusiasm about the Auburn offer, highlighting his excitement at the prospect of potentially making a significant impact for the team. He plans to visit Auburn during the upcoming summer.
Auburn is expected to face stiff competition for Powell’s talents, especially with an imminent offer likely from in-state school Georgia Tech. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 185 pounds, Powell showcased his skills by averaging 6.7 yards per carry during his junior season at Miller County High School in Georgia.
As the current Tigers’ starter, Jarquez Hunter, approaches his final season, the coaching staff will intensify efforts to secure promising running backs like Powell. Despite being a 2025 recruit, Powell has yet to receive a rating from either 247Sports or On3.
