FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – No. 11 Arkansas split its Friday doubleheader with Ole Miss. They lost 6-0 in the first game but rebounded with a 12-2 (5 inn.) victory in the second game at Bogle Park.
With this result, Arkansas’ overall record now stands at 36-14, with a 14-9 conference mark. They evened the series in the second game and will aim for their sixth consecutive SEC series win at 3 p.m. CT Saturday at Bogle Park. The decisive game will be available to stream on SEC Network+.
Game one saw Arkansas struggle defensively and offensively, resulting in a 6-0 loss to the Rebels. Despite a solid start by RHP Morgan Leinstock, who allowed only four runs (two earned) across 5.0 innings, defensive errors and offensive challenges hindered the Razorbacks. LHP Robyn Herron and LHP Hannah Camenzind also made appearances on the mound.
However, in game two, Arkansas bounced back strongly, securing a run-rule victory of 12-2 in five innings. They displayed an impressive offensive performance, scoring early with a nine-run first inning and adding three more runs in the second inning. LHP Robyn Herron delivered a stellar pitching performance, allowing only two hits and striking out six batters in five innings.
Offensively, designated player Rylee Cloud stood out with her first career home run and three RBIs. Reagan Johnson and Bri Ellis also contributed significantly at the plate, each recording two RBIs. Nia Carter and Hannah Gammill were among others who made notable offensive contributions.
The Razorbacks’ offensive explosion in game two secured the split of the doubleheader and set the stage for the series-deciding game on Saturday.
