Shortly after his draft selection this year, Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy praised the experience of playing alongside quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Despite Mahomes not being present on the field with Worthy during Kansas City’s rookie minicamp, Worthy emphasized that their relationship has already begun to take shape.

“I had a conversation with him—connected a bit,” Worthy stated on Saturday, as reported by John Dixon of ArrowheadPride.com. “He expressed excitement about my arrival at the camp. It’s incredible to have a quarterback who desires your presence. … It implies they’ll make efforts to involve you in the offense and get you the ball.”

Worthy, who set a record at the scouting combine with a 4.21-second 40-yard dash, appears to be grateful for landing with the Chiefs. “I believe everyone would aspire to play with Pat, considering how exceptional a quarterback he is and how personable he is,” Worthy remarked.

The upcoming months will reveal whether Mahomes and Worthy can swiftly establish a strong connection on the field.
