Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold received two phone calls during the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Detroit Lions made a move up in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft to secure Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold. However, Arnold disclosed that he received another call from a team over the draft weekend. He revealed that the Las Vegas Raiders contacted him after the draft, informing him that they had considered selecting him instead of tight end Brock Bowers.
During a radio interview, Arnold disclosed that he had attracted interest from multiple teams and was close to being picked 11 spots earlier. Additionally, he mentioned that the Lions had attempted to trade up beyond the Jacksonville Jaguars’ pick at No. 17. Ultimately, Jacksonville opted for LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr., leaving Arnold available until the Lions nabbed him at No. 24, bypassing their NFC North rivals, the Green Bay Packers, in the process.
Arnold emphasized that his priority was to join a team that valued him.
