WNBA Announcement: Angel Reese announces her Birthday today and want the Chicago Sky to celebrate with her

Ahead of her inaugural appearance in the WNBA next week, Angel Reese, the rookie for the Chicago Sky, is anticipating large turnouts at games nationwide throughout the season.

During the team’s media day on Wednesday, Reese expressed her expectation of packed arenas, even mentioning the possibility of standing-room only crowds:

“We might even see standing-room only at times. They’ve informed us that when I return home to Washington, we’ll be playing in the same venue as the Wizards. So, changes are happening, and they won’t stop here. We’re heading in a positive direction with charter flights. Having that option is definitely a step forward.”

Reese anticipates notable figures like Usher and Cardi B, whom she interacted with at the recent Met Gala in New York, to be among the spectators:

“The who’s who will likely be sitting courtside. I attended the Met Gala, and Usher plans to attend a game in Vegas, as well as Cardi B. I have connections with people you might not expect.”

The 2024 WNBA rookie class, including Reese, is highly regarded, with Caitlin Clark, the top overall pick, leading the pack for the Indiana Fever.

Despite a setback with Kamilla Cardoso, who sustained a shoulder injury, the Sky is excited about their acquisitions, which include Reese and reigning NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, Cardoso.

There’s immense anticipation surrounding the upcoming WNBA season, with three teams—Atlanta Dream, Las Vegas Aces, Dallas Wings—having sold out their season tickets. The Fever’s home opener against the New York Liberty has seen a significant increase in resale prices since Clark’s draft declaration in February.

Rookies like Reese, Clark, Cardoso, Cameron Brink, and others are eager to establish themselves in the league alongside established stars such as A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Alyssa Thomas, and Jewell Loyd.

With the regular season commencing on May 14 with four games, including Clark’s debut for the Fever against the Connecticut Sun and the Aces hosting the Phoenix Mercury, fans and celebrities alike are gearing up to fill the arenas. Reese’s debut with the Sky will take place on May 15 against the Wings at College Park Center.
