Any observer familiar with the college basketball landscape over the past two decades would likely concur that Mark Few’s eventual induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame is inevitable. As the head coach of the Gonzaga men’s basketball team, Few has transformed what was once perceived as just another small Jesuit school and a modest mid-major program into a dominant force in college hoops. With two Naismith Coach of the Year awards to his name, Few boasts the highest winning percentage in Division-I history.

Additionally, he holds the distinction of being the only head coach to lead his team to the NCAA Tournament in the first 24 years of his career. Few’s accumulation of career victories surpasses that of any other coach in history, except for Adolph Rupp and Jerry Tarkanian, both of whom are enshrined in the basketball hall of fame.

According to Gonzaga play-by-play announcer Greg Heister, the time has arrived for Few to be acknowledged as a hall-of-famer. “It’s imperative to honor him while his impact remains significant,” Heister remarked. “We may never witness such a remarkable coaching feat again in the annals of college athletics.”

Heister recently delved into Few’s coaching legacy, the presence of Gonzaga alumni in the NBA Playoffs, and various other topics during a discussion with Dan Dickau on a new episode of Gonzaga Nation.
