Its a Confirmed deal: Another Running back contract is confirmed by the GM of The Carolina Panthers just…

The Carolina Panthers are set to expand their roster of running backs with the addition of Rashaad Penny, a seasoned player with experience under Dave Canales. Sources confirm that Penny is poised to join the team after the rookie minicamp, following a stint with the Philadelphia Eagles last season and several years with the Seattle Seahawks. The Panthers have officially announced Penny’s agreement to terms on a contract.

Penny’s most notable season occurred in 2021 while Canales served as passing game coordinator and Brad Idzik, the current Panthers offensive coordinator, was an offensive assistant. During that season, Penny recorded impressive stats, rushing for 749 yards and six touchdowns in just 10 games. However, his playing time has been limited since then, including a shortened stint in 2022 due to a broken fibula.

Penny’s arrival adds depth to a running back group already filled with talent, including Chuba Hubbard, who emerged as a key player last season. Hubbard’s success in 2023 was a result of improved health after undergoing surgeries early in his NFL career. As the incumbent starter, Hubbard is expected to maintain his role for the upcoming season, with Penny now entering the mix.
