How Jim Montgomery of the Bruins Addressed Inquiries Regarding the Officiating in Game 3.

Jim Montgomery expressed discontent with at least one officiating call during the Boston Bruins’ Game 3 loss to the Florida Panthers at TD Garden on Friday night. Despite this, the Bruins’ head coach refrained from assigning blame following his team’s 6-2 defeat.

When questioned about the officiating, Montgomery responded: “Our performance in the first two periods wasn’t up to par. It’s hard to argue that we deserved more power plays.”

The outcome of the game was significantly influenced by Florida’s power play. The Panthers capitalized on four out of six power-play opportunities, including two goals in the second period following a double minor penalty (high-sticking) against Bruins defenseman Mason Lohrei.

“That penalty really shifted the momentum of the game,” Montgomery remarked, as reported in the team-provided video.
