Canterbury Bulldogs Suffer Blow as Young Forward Faces Injury Layoff

Canterbury Bulldogs’ forward lineup has taken a significant hit with news of an injury sidelining one of their promising young talents.

Jack Todd, a budding front-rower, has suffered a fractured forearm, dealing a setback to his aspirations just before the club’s recent match against the Penrith Panthers. Reports suggested he was being considered as a late addition to the lineup.

Despite nearing his NRL debut, Todd’s injury prognosis indicates he will be out of action for at least two months, joining teammate Chris Patolo on the injury list.

In the NSW Cup this season, Todd has showcased his skills in eight appearances, predominantly as a prop or lock. He has been a standout performer in reserve grade, tallying 22 tackle busts, 218 tackles (with an impressive 95.2% efficiency rate), and racking up a total of 1106 running meters, averaging 138 meters per game.

Phil Gould later confirmed via X (formerly known as Twitter) that Todd underwent surgery on Thursday afternoon. He added that Todd would be sidelined from training for a couple of weeks as he initiates his recovery process to eventually resume full-contact training.
