IT’S A DONE DEAL: A mega player committed to the Carolina Panthers regarding…

The Carolina Panthers of the NFL have reached a decision regarding Rory Beggan, the goalkeeper from Monaghan. Beggan participated in the NFL’s International Player Pathway earlier this year and subsequently underwent trials with the Panthers. His kicking skills left a positive impression, despite his commitment to playing for Monaghan in their Ulster championship match against Cavan. Upon his return to the United States, however, he did not secure a spot with the Panthers, as reported by RTÉ. Nevertheless, there’s a possibility he might receive invitations to try out for other teams.

Beggan’s prowess garnered considerable attention across the league. His performance at the Combine in Indianapolis was notable, and during his NFL Pro Day, he achieved a perfect 10 out of 10 in a kicking challenge, impressing scouts from 31 NFL teams.

In addition to Beggan, several other GAA stars have ventured into NFL tryouts. Mark Jackson, the goalkeeper from Wicklow, is currently undergoing trials with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Meanwhile, Charlie Smyth from Down and Jude McAtamney from Derry have found success, securing deals with the New Orleans Saints and New York Giants, respectively.
