Playoff Update: Canucks Bring Impressive Away Performance to Edmonton for Game Three
The series moves to Edmonton as the Vancouver Canucks bring their flawless road record in the playoffs to Rogers Place on Sunday night.
In game two, the Canucks battled the Oilers, pushing the game to overtime, where they ultimately lost 4-3 to a goal from Evan Bouchard.
Following the game, Canucks captain Quinn Hughes emphasized his team’s consistent approach throughout the season, staying grounded regardless of highs or lows, which he believes will benefit them in the ongoing series.
In today’s playoff update, we’ll hear from Nikita Zadorov and head coach Rick Tocchet, who addressed the media on Saturday afternoon. We’ll also highlight some noteworthy statistics and provide details on how to watch the game from home, at Rogers Arena, or at the Abbotsford Centre.
Let’s dive in, though some of us may still have some last-minute Mother’s Day shopping to attend to.
From the Coach
Tocchet praised his young goaltender, Artūrs Šilovs, commending his performance in game two.
“That’s a characteristic of a skilled goalie,” Tocchet remarked about Šilovs maintaining his composure in the net during game two. “I don’t think he performed poorly in game one at all. I’d say he was decent to good. But in the following game, he really stepped up. So, I believe that’s indicative of a top-notch goaltender and someone who handles pressure admirably.”
The coach also discussed the 13 call-ups from Abbotsford and the message he conveyed to them throughout the playoffs.
