The Kings and Warriors are teaming up to host an expanded version of the California Classic, which will take place in both Sacramento and San Francisco.

The Kings and the Golden State Warriors will collaborate to host this year’s California Classic at two locations in Northern California. The sixth edition of the California Classic will span five days from July 6 to July 10, featuring six teams playing a total of 12 games. The matches will take place at the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento and the Chase Center in San Francisco. Participating teams will include 2024 NBA draft picks, undrafted rookies, and other aspiring players aiming for spots in the NBA or G League.

In Sacramento, the Kings, Charlotte Hornets, and San Antonio Spurs will compete on July 6, 7, and 9 respectively. Meanwhile, the Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Miami Heat will battle it out in San Francisco. The event will conclude with a game between the Kings and the Warriors on July 10 at the Chase Center.

Sacramento Kings coach Mike Brown mentioned that assistant coach Doug Christie is likely to lead Sacramento’s summer league team, which may feature players like Colby Jones, Mason Jones, and those selected in the 2024 draft.

Starting Thursday, season ticket holders for the Sacramento Kings, Sacramento River Cats, and Stockton Kings will have early access to multi-day passes for all games at the Golden 1 Center, with the option to add discounted admission to Fourth on the Field at Sutter Health Park. Tickets will be available to the general public starting Friday at Kings.com/CAClassic for Sacramento and Warriors.com for San Francisco.

The California Classic, established in 2018, initially featured the Kings, Warriors, Lakers, and Heat. The Hornets and Spurs joined the lineup last summer when the event returned to Sacramento after being held in San Francisco in 2022. This event serves as a precursor to the Las Vegas Summer League, scheduled for July 12-22.

Previous participants in the California Classic include Kings point guard De’Aaron Fox and forward Keegan Murray. Murray, drafted fourth overall in 2022 from Iowa, made his debut at the event before earning a spot on the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2023.
