Kirby Smart offers early forecasts based on Georgia’s 2024 schedule.

Georgia’s head coach, Kirby Smart, shared his thoughts on the Bulldogs’ 2024 schedule during a recent appearance on The Paul Finebaum Show. Smart acknowledged the high expectations surrounding the team while highlighting the formidable challenges presented by the loaded SEC schedule for the upcoming season.

“We may be viewed as favorites by some, while others may find fault with us,” Smart remarked, as reported by Thomas Goldkamp of On3 Sports. “Our schedule is particularly tough, with three top-15 conference opponents awaiting us on the road; that’s a significant challenge.”

Smart emphasized his commitment to building a sustainable program geared towards long-term success, both on and off the field. “We have a solid football team, one that exhibits consistency,” he affirmed. “Our aim is sustainability at Georgia. We’re not aiming to achieve fleeting success or rely solely on transfers. Instead, we aim to nurture our players from recruitment, help them develop, and ultimately provide them with opportunities at the professional level while also shaping them into responsible members of society.”

Despite the demanding road fixtures against the likes of Alabama, Texas, and Ole Miss, Smart maintains confidence in his team’s abilities. Georgia faces a tough test in their quest for another national championship, but Smart remains optimistic about their prospects.

“I believe we’ll field a competitive team next year,” Smart expressed. “The extent of our success and performance in challenging away games remains to be seen, but we’re prepared to face whatever comes our way.”
