DONE DEAL: David Fifita has finally agree to join Bulldogs

David Fifita, a representative for Queensland Origin, has decided to exercise his player option with the Titans for the 2025 and 2026 seasons, meaning he will stay with the team past 2024.

Fifita had told the Titans last week that he had signed a long-term contract to play for the Roosters beginning in 2025 and would not be exercising his option to stay on the Gold Coast.

But in spite of his management telling the Roosters and Fifita personally alerting the chairman and head coach of his plan to join the club, Fifita has subsequently expressed uncertainty, according to a Roosters statement.

As a result, “with the opinion that it is in the Roosters’ best interest,” the Tricolours withdrew their offer to the forward.

According to a Titans statement, Fifita stated, “I am really appreciative for the attention and interest given in me over the previous two weeks, but upon further contemplation, I have made the decision that I want to remain a Titan beyond 2024.”

“My family has been instrumental in helping me make this decision, and I am happy about the direction the team is headed and being near to home.”
