Over the past few years, the front office of the Las Vegas Raiders has seen a lot of changes, but Dwayne Joseph has remained a constant. He served as the team’s director of pro scouting from 2019 to the end of the general manager rotation.
But at last, he’s making the decision to go on. Neil Stratton of Inside The League stated in an X post dated May 14 that Joseph is heading from Las Vegas to play for the Detroit Lions.
Joseph’s new position is unknown, however it might be a promotion. He has previously been considered for multiple general manager positions and may receive one in the upcoming years. If his ultimate objective is to become general manager of Detroit, it would be absurd for him to accept a less significant post there.
Brad Holmes, the general manager of the Lions, is regarded as one of the greatest in the NFL, and Joseph will have plenty opportunity to learn from him. It’s unclear as well whether the Raiders intended to make a change in any case.
JoJo Wooden, a longtime official with the Los Angeles Chargers, joined the Raiders this summer as a new general manager under Tom Telesco. He would be a reasonable option for Joseph because he has experience as a director of pro scouting. The group may also consider adding a third party.

The Raiders have had four general managers since Mark Davis became their owner in 2011. Davis needs a capable general manager because he dislikes becoming involved in decisions about player personnel.
