Deal in progress: Kyril Louis-Dreyfus is about to make a deal of a championship manager from…..

Sunderland’s owner, Kyril Louis-Dreyfus, seems to have his sights set on a particular Championship manager who might soon be on the market. With Sunderland still manager-less and the successor to Michael Beale yet to be named after three months, fans are eagerly awaiting a frontrunner to emerge. Currently, Will Still and Bo Svensson are the most closely associated names, while Danny Rohl and Rene Maric seem to have fallen out of contention. Liam Rosenior’s name came up, particularly after his recent sacking by Hull City, though he declined a return to the Championship with Plymouth Argyle. While Louis-Dreyfus might consider Rosenior, he’s also likely keeping tabs on other Championship figures.

In other news, Southampton is in the Championship play-offs, having drawn the first leg 0-0 with West Brom and preparing to host them in the upcoming fixture. Reports from the Daily Mail suggest that Ralph Hasenhüttl, the former MK Dons and Swansea City boss, could face dismissal if he fails to guide Southampton to promotion to the Premier League this season. Despite guiding the team to a commendable 4th place finish in the Championship last summer, opinions among Saints fans vary regarding Hasenhüttl’s future at the club. However, if he’s indeed let go, there’s anticipation that he’ll garner interest from Championship clubs, potentially including Sunderland.
