Done Deal: Utah Jazz sign LeBron James’ son……Read more

The Utah Jazz are scouting Bronny, and the Lakers are the favorites to sign LeBron James’ son.

The Utah Jazz are reportedly considering selecting Bronny James, son of NBA star LeBron James, in the upcoming draft. According to Krysten Peek of Yahoo Sports, the Jazz are interested in inviting Bronny for a workout and might choose him with the 32nd pick.

“Sources told Yahoo Sports that the Jazz have shown interest in bringing Bronny in for a personal workout and may consider him with the 32nd pick,” Peek reported. “Under Danny Ainge’s leadership, the franchise has been patiently rebuilding, and drafting Bronny with the hope of attracting a superstar like LeBron could be the spark owner Ryan Smith seeks to invigorate the Jazz.”

Led by executive Danny Ainge, the Jazz hope that drafting Bronny might attract LeBron James, providing a significant boost to their roster.

Currently, LeBron, the oldest player in the NBA, has just completed his 21st season. It’s remarkable that NBA teams are willing to draft his son to potentially acquire the four-time champion at this stage in his career, but such is the current landscape. Notably, LeBron remains a top-10 player in the league, having broken numerous records, which makes the strategy sensible.

From a business perspective, LeBron James has a player option to leave the Lakers and become a free agent after the 2024-25 season. This means he could join any team, including one that drafts his son, allowing them to play together.

Betting odds currently favor the Los Angeles Lakers to select Bronny at +160 ($100 bet to win $160), with the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks all trailing at +1700.

This week, Bronny James participated in the NBA Combine in Chicago, where he showcased his skills. He performed well in a scrimmage on Wednesday, scoring 13 points, an improvement from his previous game. His efforts impressed many analysts, including former NBA star Jamal Crawford and Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.

The NBA draft will be held on June 26 and 27. While Bronny aims to play in the NBA, it’s still uncertain if he will end up on the same team as his father.
