Last season, Joe had limited playing time, often appearing on the court only during blowout games. Despite the crowd and teammates urging him to shoot, he struggled to make baskets, managing just one successful free throw out of two attempts. However, his strength lay in rebounding, where he excelled, leading the team in rebounds per 40 minutes played with an impressive 17.1, surpassing even standout player Chet Holmgren.

Being the coach’s son and deeply knowledgeable about the Gonzaga system, Joe must navigate a delicate balance—guiding teammates without being overbearing and setting an example without appearing like a brown-noser. Judging from team social media and player interactions, Joe seems to strike this balance well, being both one of the team and someone his teammates genuinely root for.

With key players gone, Joe is expected to see increased playing time this season, likely moving up the walk-on depth chart.
