**Jannik Sinner on the Road to Recovery Ahead of French Open**

World number two Jannik Sinner has resumed training as he aims to recover in time for the French Open after a right hip injury caused him to miss the Rome Open. The Italian tennis star shared photos on social media, showing himself practicing on a clay court in Monaco, just over a week before Roland Garros begins on May 26. Along with the images, Sinner used emojis including a sword and the French flag, highlighting his determination to compete in the second Grand Slam of the season in Paris.

Sinner, who won the Australian Open earlier this year, withdrew from the Rome Open after stating he would only participate in the French Open if he was fully fit. The hip injury also forced him to retire before his quarter-final match at the Madrid Open earlier this month.

During a press conference announcing his withdrawal from Rome, Sinner said: “I don’t want to go into details (of the injury). We thought initially that it wasn’t anything serious, but the scans showed that there was something that wasn’t right. One thing is sure, if I’m not 100 percent recovered, I will take more time out as I do not want to lose three years of my career.”

He acknowledged that his preparation for Paris wouldn’t be ideal due to limited time but expressed his commitment to being ready to compete.

The 22-year-old captured his first Grand Slam title at the Australian Open in January and claimed his second Masters 1000 title in Miami in March.
