Dave Edwards comments that while Marko Marosi’s departure creates a gap, Shrewsbury Town has the opportunity to find creative solutions.

We don’t anticipate any major announcements soon, but the players offered new contracts by the club still need to make their decisions. Among them, Marko Marosi seems the most likely to leave, as Paul Hurst mentioned last week.

Marosi is probably on a lucrative contract at Shrewsbury, likely one of the highest earners, and deservedly so given his consistent performance at the club.

He’s been outstanding, securing many points for Shrewsbury Town with his impressive saves.

He’s also been reliably present, so his departure will be a significant loss. I believe Marosi will attract numerous offers from both League One and Championship clubs because he’s that talented. Unfortunately, I expect him to move on, as Shrewsbury won’t be able to match the financial offers he could get elsewhere.

This situation mirrors what Paul Hurst did previously at the club when he brought in Dean Henderson on loan from Manchester United.
